HSC runners shine at championships: Fusion brings new opportunities!

Langsur, Deutschland - gamlen. An exciting weekend for the HSC runners! On November 10, the last association championship 2024 took place in Laubach/Hunsrück, where the Rhineland and Rhineland-Palatinate championships were held in cross-country skiing. This championship marks the end of an era, because from 2025 there will only be joint competitions under the new Rhein-Hessen Athletics Association. Robert Gotto and Markus Schmitt competed on the demanding long distance of 9050 m and achieved remarkable placements: Gotto secured the 5th place in the Rhineland classification, while Schmitt took 6th place. In the Rhineland-Palatinate rating, Gotto landed on the 6th and Schmitt on the 7th place. A strong team that is looking forward to the upcoming challenges!

But that wasn't everything! On November 9, a cross -border run over 10,000 m took place in Langsur, which led the participants on an exciting route. The first 5000 m were completed on the German side before going back to Luxembourg via the Sauer. Martin Burgmer shone with a time of 40:45 minutes and secured the 2nd place in the M 60 classification. With a personal best of 43:59 minutes, Diemar Krämer set another exclamation mark and showed that he was in top shape at the end of the year. A great result for the small but fine HSC running team!

special challenges and team spirit

On November 16, the bubble run in Wallenborn was on the program, an event that traditionally takes place in the dark. Caution was advised here! Dietmar Krämer showed his skills over 4080 m with a time of 17:41 minutes, which earned him 5th place and the 1st place in the M 45 rating. He also took part in the main route of 10,200 m and reached the 12th place with 46:26 minutes and the 3rd place in the M 45 classification. A truly impressive weekend for the HSC running team!

The next team starts have already been determined: On December 1st, the cross finals of the Cochem-Zell series will take place in Alfen, followed by the Advent run in Zell on December 15th over 5000 m.
