The first groundbreaking for Kail Windpark: Grünstrom for 7,500 households!

The first excavators roll: The Kail wind farm finally takes shape! In Rhineland-Palatinate, near the enchanting Moselle, RWE starts building three impressive wind turbines. These gigantic turbines will achieve a total output of 12.9 megawatts (MW) - enough to supply around 7,500 households with green electricity. The project continues to move forward because the construction site is already being set up and the paths are optimally prepared.

at the end of 2025 the wind turbines are to be put into operation. Katja Wünschel, CEO of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia, describes the start of construction as a "positive signal." This development is not only a step towards sustainable energy supply, but also a strong commitment to the energy transition in Germany. The surcharge of the Federal Network Agency for this promising project was already granted in February this year.

a step into the future

  • location: Cochem-Zell, Rhineland-Palatinate
  • performance: 12.9 MW (sufficient for 7,500 households)
  • construction start: immediately!
  • planned commissioning: at the end of 2025
  • operator: rwe

With the Kail wind farm, RWE relies on renewable energies and is at the top of change. This progress inspires hopes for a green future and shows that the infrastructure for sustainable energy generation is already planned and implemented at full speed. The region is not only supplied with clean electricity, but also receives a piece of technological innovation on the Moselle high plateau.
