Together strong: Actions against violence against women in the Wittlich district!

A strong sign against violence on women will be set from November 25th to December 10th in the Bernkastel-Wittlich district! On the occasion of the international day to eliminate violence to women, which has been celebrated for 25 years, the UN campaign "Orange the World" is again in the spotlight. This important initiative warns of the alarming statistics: every fourth woman becomes victim of violence in the course of her life. In 2023, 497 cases of violence in close social relationships were registered in the Region - a call for action!

The color orange symbolizes the hope of an end to violence and will be visible everywhere during the orange days. This year the House of Youth Wittlich will draw attention to the topic with an exciting Instagram campaign. Pastor Bruno Comes' popular YouTube channel will also be active during the 16 days. The integrative band Alpina has written a new song to spread the message. Numerous organizations, including the Kinopalast Eifel Moselle Hunsrück and the country women's association, also participate in the actions and contribute to the visibility of the topic.

diverse actions and events

The Orange Days offer a platform for creative and educational events throughout the district. The art association "Art of Hecken and Fences" will be present with various actions and invite the citizens to participate. An overview of all events is summarized in a flyer that is available in many places in the district and can also be downloaded online. This initiative is not only a sign of solidarity, but also an urgent appeal for awareness of violence against women!
