Ahrbrück, Deutschland - Altenahr. Memories of the devastating flood disaster from three years ago are awake when the shocking pictures of the current flood in Valencia go through the media. But it is not just a look back in the southern Palatinate - the help is actively helped here! The fundraising campaign "Wine Region for Wine Region - Südpfalz helps the Ahr Valley" has collected impressive 630,000 euros to support the reconstruction in the Ahr Valley. Part of this sum, exactly 18,383.87 euros, flows into the project "Interimnocks at SV Altenahr".
On a recent visit to Ahrbrück, in the heart of the Altenahr community, the district councils Dietmar Seefeldt (Süw), Dr. Fritz Brechtel (GER) and Svend Larsen (board member Sparkasse Südpfalz) show the new tennis facility. Received by District Administrator Cornelia Weigand, Mayor Guido Galle and the committed tennis youth, they learned first -hand from the challenges and progress of the association. "With the new venue, the basis for the future of the local sports club has literally been laid," said the heads of administration.

The sports club Altenahr, which was strongly hit by the flood disaster, lost its tennis courts and the clubhouse when a tidal wave devastated the facility. In order to maintain the operation, a sports tent was built on an old school premises. Thanks to the financial support of the fundraiser, two modern tennis courts that help the club back on their feet. The anticipation of the future is tangible, and the lively club youth shows that the sport in the Ahr valley is blooming again!
