New cooperator Dr. Bollig brings a breath of fresh air in Tholey!

The pastoral area Tholey experiences a significant change in pastoral care, since Monsignor Dr. Michael Bollig will play his new role as a cooperator on October 1, 2024. In the future, he will be responsible for spiritual support and liturgical activities in several parishes, including Bostalsee, Marpingen and Nonnweiler as well as in the Region on the Schaumberg. Monsignor Dr. Bollig will be living in the rectory in Hasborn and will look forward to working with the community.

Who is Monsignor Dr. Michael Bollig? Born on September 1, 1967 in Trier, he grew up in a family of winegrowers in Neumagen-Dhron. His career in the Catholic Church began in 1995 with its ordination, followed by an activity as a chaplain in Ahrweiler. After a doctorate at the University of Bonn, he worked as a university pastor in Trier from 2002 to 2006. He also headed the seminar in Lantershofen and was most recently the pastor of the parish of St. Edith Stein in Trier as well as a lecturer for dogmatics and dogm history.

In addition to his new role in Tholey, Dr. Bollig continues to lead the priestly training for the diocese of Trier. The community of community is particularly important to him. In his own words, he describes pastoral care as a common path that connects us with the teachings of Jesus, shaped by the proclamation and charity. This illustrates his deeply rooted conviction that spiritual accompaniment is not only a duty, but a valuable way to grow in faith and get closer.
