New Bachem sports field opened: a symbol of cohesion and joy!

Bachem, Deutschland - Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler/Bachem. A new star in the sports sky shines in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler! The newly opened Bachem sports field is not only an architectural masterpiece, but also a significant step in reconstruction after the devastating flood disaster. With a state-of-the-art artificial turf pitch, LED floodlights and spacious spectator areas, the sport is redefined here. The facility is a real paradise for sports enthusiasts, equipped with flood-attached ball trap fences, a skate system, career and jumping.

The joy is huge, especially at SG Bachem/Walporzheim, which can finally train and play under optimal conditions. Long trips to alternative sites in Bad Breisig, Königsfeld and other places are a thing of the past! The students of the Erich Kästner Realschule-Plus can also look forward to a new sporting home. Mayor Guido Orthen emphasizes: "This sports field is a place of encounter, joy and competition. It symbolizes the new cohesion of the people since the flood disaster."

Rhineland-Palatinate Interior Minister Michael Ebling was also on site and praised the progress in reconstruction. "It is important that we make progress with the new and reconstruction during sports," said Ebling and thanked the donors who made the project possible. The total costs amount to 1.8 million euros, with most of the country's reconstruction. Despite the weather -related delays, all work should be completed by spring 2025.

The opening was also accompanied by a special anniversary: SG Bachem/Walporzheim celebrates 50 years of successful club history! Prominent guests such as Walter Desch and Fritz Langenhorst were present to appreciate this milestone. Another highlight was the large DKMS typing campaign for the sick flood helper Janine, in which many visitors took the chance to be typed. Musical performances and an exciting football tournament rounded off the celebrations and made this day unforgettable.
