Ahrweiler celebrates: New couple brings carnival back!

Ahrweiler, Deutschland - ahrweiler. A festival of joy and carnival! The proclamation party of the Ahrweiler Carnival Society (AKG) was celebrated in the Helmut-Gies citizens' center last evening. The mood was electrifying when the Jecken from Ahrweiler announced that in the upcoming session 2024/2025 again by a prince couple - and for the first time since 2018! The event attracted numerous Fastelovend friends and members of friendly carnival societies, including many prominent greatities.

The session, guided confidently by the charming session president Carolin Groß, offered fireworks. The small sparks of the AKG ensured that the atmosphere quickly heated up, followed by impressive appearances by the middle and large sparks and the Ahrweiler Stadtgarde. The evening was musically accompanied by the Ahr talents, the band "Schmitzmarie", DJ Eric Bubax and the Spielmannszug Ahrweiler. An emotional highlight was the farewell of outgoing Prince Milan I, who visibly moved the stage, surrounded by a rose trellis and the sounds of the Klüngelköpp.

The tension in the hall was within reach when the secret was revealed shortly before 10 p.m.: The new Ahrweiler prince couple for the session 2024/2025 are Prince Kai I. (Krause) and Princess Maria I. (El Tawil)! Prince Kai I., born in Cologne in 1971, was project team leader at Telekom and is involved in the CDU city association Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler. In addition to his passion for the carnival, he is a big football fan, especially 1. FC Köln. Together with his life partner Maria and her two daughters, he lives in Ahrweiler and looks forward to the upcoming celebrations.

Princess Maria I brings her own dynamics: she works as an assistant in management management at the Bundeswehr Medical Service in Koblenz. In her free time, she devotes herself to archery, creative projects and customs care. The prince couple is supported by the experienced adjutant Karl-Heinz Conradt. After the ceremonial handover of the town hall key, nothing stands in the way of a lavish proclamation party! The next big events of the AKG, including the splendor meeting on January 12, 2025 and the Jecke Pänz Party on February 15, are already in sight!
