The ceremonial award ceremony took place as part of the "municipal evening", which also celebrated the 75th anniversary of the demo magazine. Reinhard Naumann, the long-time mayor of Mannheim's partner city Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, thought a moving laudation for Peter Kurz.
