an evening full of honors

The ceremonial award ceremony took place as part of the "municipal evening", which also celebrated the 75th anniversary of the demo magazine. Reinhard Naumann, the long-time mayor of Mannheim's partner city Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, thought a moving laudation for Peter Kurz. Dirk-Ulrich Mende, SPD member of the Bundestag, also paid tribute to the immense importance of the demo for local politics.
