Culture Prize in Capitol: An evening full of passion and honor!

In an exciting evening full of culture and ceremony, the cultural award of the Rhein-Erft district was awarded in the magnificent Capitol Theater in Kerpen. This special event, which has been carried out by the cultural department under the direction of the committed Engelbert Schmitz for 20 years, gave the 105 guests present, including prominent local representatives and families of the award winners, unforgettable moments.

With a lot of charm and wit, the popular moderator Olly Hahn led through the event, which honored the passionate work of outstanding cultural workers. This year the prizes were awarded to three remarkable award winners: the Jazzin ’Erftstadt association, the versatile musician Martin Doepke and the Working Group Kulturkirche Angelsdorf. Each winner received 1000 euros from a total prize money of 3000 euros, which was presented by District Administrator Frank Rock. The passionate contributions of the award winners were presented by impressive film clips that showed their immense devotion and the creative influence on the region.

On stage you felt the energy and passion that drives the winners. Martin Tilke from Jazzin ’Erftstadt emphasized the voluntary performance of the association, which has been upgrading the local cultural scene with jazz concerts since 2011. The internationally valued Martin Doepke presented a homage to his place of work, the Bergheim Medio, and impressed with its compositions for sizes such as Ultravox and Bläck Fööss. During this celebration, the music was not on the track: The dynamic duo Ludwig and Benyamin Nuss caused musical highlights, while Doepke accompanied his daughter Anna on a song on his musical "The Beauty and the Beast".

The talented singer Maggie Maggentun and Gerhard Sagemüller formed the end of the glamorous evening on the guitar that captivated the audience. A delicate finger food selection rounded off the event and left a lasting impression on those present.
