Stern singers bring blessings and good news to the mayor!

On December 24, 2024, Mayor Christian Bommers received the star singers from the Meerbusch parishes in the old city treasury. Bommers said with pride of his own childhood as a valet and star singer, while the colorful groups brought the town hall the traditional blessing "C + M + B" ("Christus Mansionem Benedikat - Christ bless the house"). The order for children's rights

This year's campaign is under the lead word "Collect your voice! Stern singing for children's rights" and is shaped by the parish of the municipality of St. Pankratius in Ossum-Bösinghoven with 45 registered children. The projects also include the support of disadvantaged children in Kenya and Colombia, where local partner organizations promote the entire range of children's rights, such as RP Online . The donations that are collected annually by the star singing campaigns are enormous: almost 46 million euros came together in January 2024 to help global children.

The growing challenges to find enough children for the Dreikönigssingen, Mayor Bommers regrets. He appealed to the parents to encourage their children to participate, because the valuable experience of working for the needy promotes responsibility and self -confidence. The star singers take place every year around the Epiphany on January 6th in all 27 German dioceses and mobilize around 300,000 children who move from door to door to collect donations and to raise awareness of children's rights.
