Kaarster first grader: shining vests for more safety in traffic!

In an impressive security act, the traffic watch of the Rhein-Kreis Neuss, in cooperation with the Sparkasse Neuss, distributed shining warning vests to all school beginners in the Rhein-Kreis. Among the happy recipients are 477 first graders from Kaarst, who are now more secure in road traffic in their bright yellow west!

Last week Stephan Vetten from the traffic watch ceremoniously presented the warning vests to Mayor Ursula Baum and Michael Wilms, the head of the school administration office. Wilms warned urgently: "In the dark season, many darkly dressed children are on the move. This is a risk that simply does not have to be." The concerned Mayor Baum appealed to the parents: "Please dear parents, attract your children to these vests. So they are simply better protected."

call for security

The city of Kaarst calls up to send the children to school every year. This not only has advantages for physical fitness, but also promotes concentration in class and supports the development of children. The city has created special footpath plans that lead safely to school, and buses are available for longer school routes.

But the trend towards driving by car is obvious! Chaotic traffic jams often occurred in front of the schools. In order to counteract this, Kaarst has set up special parent stops so that the children can at least cover the rest of the way to school independently. Security and independence are at the top of the agenda!
