Pulheim discovers new mobility: eight stops are being rebuilt!

In Pulheim there are exciting news for all public transport users. The city has decided to extensively convert eight bus stops to make driving on buses and trains more attractive. This step is part of a larger plan to move people to switch from the car to public transport and thus relieve the environment.

A central element of the renovation are the planned bicycle boxes and mobile stations. Mobile stations are being set up in particular at three of the affected stops. These will act as multifunctional nodes that link different means of transport such as bus, train as well as bike and car sharing offers. This enables a seamless transition between the different means of transport, which makes it easier to switch to public transport.

investments for a sustainable future

The other five stops are equipped with covered storage systems for bicycles in order to promote cycling as an environmentally friendly alternative. The planned construction of 36 bicycle boxes at the “Pulheim Bahnhof” stop is particularly remarkable. These boxes not only offer cyclists safe storage space for their bicycles, but also an additional incentive to use the wheel instead of taking the car.

The overall investment for this ambitious construction project is almost 450,000 euros. Most of the financing comes from the GO.Rheinland mobility association, which provides almost 400,000 euros. The city of Pulheim itself takes over the remaining amount, which shows the high priority that is given to the improvement of local public transport.

The conversion of the bus stops in Pulheim is a step in the right direction for sustainable mobility and shows the endeavor to create an environmentally conscious and user -friendly infrastructure for all citizens. This makes a significant contribution to improving traffic conditions in the region, which can increase both environmental protection and the quality of life of the residents.
