The animal rights activist immediately filed a complaint with the police, but who is behind these cruel traps remains unclear. Bergmann suspects that the caught birds were intended for illegal sale because the colorful songbirds can bring in up to 100 euros on the black market. The cruelty of this act not only shocks the animal rights activists, but also throws a dark light on the machinations of animal dealers in the region.
