Remscheid. Deutsche Post has relocated its mailbox system abruptly and many customers are now in front of closed doors. The notification of the relocation, dated October 28, only reached numerous mailbox owners after the changeover on November 4. A real chaos for those affected!

"Unfortunately, customers have only been informed at very short notice," said Post, Britta Töllner, on request. The different holidays nationwide on October 30th and November 1st may have delayed the delivery of the important information. The new address? A converted petrol station at Schützenstraße 38, where the mailboxes can now be picked up. A real upheaval for customers!

From the avenue road to Schützenstraße

The mailboxes that were previously housed in the Postbank branch on Alleestrasse can now be found on Schützenstrasse. "Customers can use their previous key and receive a new one on site," explains Töllner. The move is a reaction to the upcoming closure of the Postbank branch, which was announced in June. However, a date for the closure is still pending.

The Postbank, once part of Deutsche Post, took over the location on Alleestrasse years ago, but the branch was recently closed or had limited opening hours due to a lack of personnel. Deutsche Post is now looking for new possibilities and has found the right solution in Schützenstrasse - a change of location that came as a surprise to many!
