action with international importance
According to the information from World Church , the campaign is carried out by tens of thousands of children at the beginning of the year. This tradition takes place around the day of the Three Kings on January 6th, with an official start on December 28th in Paderborn.
The goal of this year's event is to strengthen the rights of children worldwide. The 67th campaign marks the 35th year after the United Nations' Child Rights Convention. Almost 46 million euros were collected last year, and Pastor Dirk Bingener, President of the "Die Sternsinger" children's mission, hopes to increase the donations. Despite progress that has already been made, there are still major challenges for children, including non -visits to schools, malnutrition problems and the increasing number of displaced children.
The aid projects of the Sternsinger support around 1,110 projects in 91 countries, including both Kenya and Colombia. In Colombia, the “Benposta” project supports children and adolescents who have experienced violence or neglect.
