Family studio Olpe: A year full of play and joy for young and old!

In the heart of Olpe, the “family studio” celebrates a remarkable first year full of activity and joy. An atmosphere in which children play and old can network is created directly in the Café village square. The rooms at Imbergstrasse 24 have developed into a lively meeting point for families, which is not least due to the colorful offer of the association.

Happy children's laughter sounds through the room while the little ones play with new friends. Marsha Pacolli, a member of the founding team, comments on the positive development: "At first there was a certain reluctance, but the response is now overwhelming." Participation in the first offer- a breastfeeding and winding tent during the Muggel fair- was a big step. At that time, many people were still unknown, but in the course of the year the focus was on increasing their own awareness and building up a community.

a place for all generations

The parents are grateful for the opportunity to let their children play in a safe environment while they can have discussions themselves. Anna Schrage often brings her son Gustav and estimates that the children can play here without the parents have to be there for them all the time. "The children are easy to make," she says, describing how important the place is for the little ones who are not yet going to kindergarten. The relaxed atmosphere not only promotes playing, but also new acquaintances among parents.

The café is also visited by fathers and grandparents. Marsha Pacolli hopes that more grandparents will take advantage of the offer, since such a gathering is also an advantage for the recent. A regular grandfather present has books for his grandson. These intergenerational activities enrich the family studio program and strengthen the community.

Heike Busse, a new employee, describes her joy in commitment. "It is a pleasure to spend time here," she says. Their motivation without becoming active in the family studio shows that this offer attracts families and individuals alike.

a wide range of courses in planning

In addition to the cozy play atmosphere, numerous courses and workshops are also offered. For example, a first aid course for children has already been organized, and various other events are being planned. The compatibility of these offers requires a lot of coordination, warned Pacolli about the challenges that are connected to find the right course instructors and to meet the wishes of the participants.

One of the newer initiatives is a monthly meeting for babies from zero to six months, which has just started successfully. Yoga and relaxation courses are also on the wish list. The team is also planning a obstetrics course that will soon be offered. With over 2000 visitors last year, the signs are good that the "family studio" remains an important part of life in Olpe.

The association is continuously looking for other volunteers. Marsha Pacolli said: "Anyone who wants to get involved is very welcome." The sense of community is one of the central aspects of the success of the family studio that brings people together and encourages them to exchange their experiences and ideas.

The opening times are on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 11.30 a.m., Thursdays from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Information updates about new courses can be found on their social media, such as Instagram and Facebook.

The association can be supported by donations to maintain the variety of offers. Contact options exist via PayPal or transfer to Volksbank Olpe Wenden Drolshagen.

The commitment of the "family studio" shows how important it is to create places where families feel welcome and exchange ideas while their children play safely. This important resource for the municipality remains optimistic that the positive development will continue and will attract even more families.
