The focus: E-mobility in the focus: two influencers from the district of Olpe illuminate!
In the district of Olpe, more precisely in Gerlingen, an interesting meeting for e-mobility took place. Thomas Haase and Daniel Schmidt, two men with different professions, have set themselves the goal of clarifying the advantages of electric cars. With an electric sedan from Mercedes, they came to the site of the Dietrich Trucks company, a place that has quick charging stations. These not only contributed to refueling their vehicles, but are also the reason why they have become active as an influencer.
Daniel, a media designer from Schönau, and Thomas, who works as a programmer in Eslohe, started her YouTube channel from a spontaneous idea. They had their first points of contact in 2019 when both worked in neighboring offices and exchanged them during the breaks about electric cars.
E-mobility in practice
The impetus to found the canal came when the two noticed how interested their colleagues were in e-mobility. "We thought that the public could also benefit from our conversations," says Daniel. This is how her channel “recently on the charging station” was created. Here you not only want to pass on your knowledge, but also to eliminate misunderstandings.
The videos are between 20 and 30 minutes long and deal with various topics related to e-mobility, energy and sustainability. It is particularly important to the two to reduce the often existing skepticism compared to electric cars. "Often you hear the opinion that in winter you will stay quickly with an electric car at traffic jams; that is not true," explains Thomas. More and more people believe that the range of electric cars is not sufficient to meet daily needs.
In one of her videos, Daniel shows that it is quite possible to travel to Mallorca with an electric car, which is supported by appropriate apps that show charging stations. "I load my car when I take a break anyway, and it works faster than you think," added Thomas. In fact, he reports, he could theoretically charge once and drive to Paris.
In total, the two have now published 120 episodes. Every month you can reach around 50,000 views and have over 12,300 subscribers. Lively discussions between supporters and critics of e-mobility take place in the comments of their videos. "We don't see ourselves as the converter of the people or critics of combustion drivers. We just want to show the advantages," emphasizes Daniel.
Your next video also promises to be exciting, as it will report on a relevant journey with an influencer that crosses the Sahara with her Tesla. Thomas enthusiastically tells of the experiences you want to share in your new video. "Anyone who is interested in e-mobility should really drop by," he invites the viewers.
