Caritas in South Westphalia: together strong for the future!
Siegen. Hubert Berschauer, chairman of the Caritas Council of the Siegener Association, announced that the two associations have started discussions about a binding cooperation. "People bundle and use networks" - that is the new motto that the two associations want to carry into the future. With the working title "Common. Function.
Preparations for "marriage" are already in full swing. The two associations agree that they have to combine their strengths in order to be able to help people in the region even better. "We want to help people comprehensively with a diverse range of services and sustainably strengthen Caritas work in South Westphalia," said Matthias Vitt and Christoph Becker. It will not only be about the merger, but also about improving the existing offers, such as the debt counseling, which is already successful in Olpe.
The two associations are determined to preserve their basic values. Lothar Epe, Caritas Council Chairman of the Olper Association, emphasizes that the collaboration can only bring advantages for people in the region. With around 2200 employees in almost 100 institutions and services, the merger will not only increase efficiency, but also improve the quality of social services. "It is an opportunity to actively shape the future of Caritas in South Westphalia," says Christoph Becker.
The board members are convinced that the merger is necessary in times of economic challenges and a shortage of skilled workers. "Inner -church developments present us with great challenges," says Berschauer. The approval of the respective families is already in sight, and the board members are optimistic that the merger will soon become a reality. Caritas in South Westphalia faces an exciting future!
