Caritas in South Westphalia: Strong together for the future!
Win.The Caritas associations in the Olpe and Siegen-Wittgenstein districts are facing a significant merger! Hubert Berschauer, Chairman of the Caritas Council of the Siegen Association, announced that the two associations have started discussions about binding cooperation. “Joining forces and using networks” – that is the new motto that the two associations want to carry into the future. With the working title “Together.Shape the Future. – Caritas in South Westphalia” a new era is ushered in!
Preparations for the “marriage” are already in full swing. The two associations agree that they must combine their strengths in order to be able to help the people in the region even better. “We want to help people comprehensively with a diverse range of services and sustainably strengthen Caritas’ work in South Westphalia,” said the two board members Matthias Vitt and Christoph Becker. It will not only be about the merger, but also about improving existing offers, such as debt advice, which is already running successfully in Olpe.
Strong together
The two associations are determined to preserve their core values. Lothar Epe, Caritasrat chairman of the Olper Association, emphasizes that the cooperation can only bring benefits for the people in the region. With around 2,200 employees in almost 100 facilities and services, the merger will not only increase efficiency, but also improve the quality of social services. “It is an opportunity to actively shape the future of Caritas in South Westphalia,” says Christoph Becker.
The board members are convinced that the merger is necessary in times of economic challenges and a shortage of skilled workers. “The developments within the church present us with major challenges,” said Berschauer. The approval of the respective families is already in sight and the directors are optimistic that the merger will soon become a reality. Caritas in South Westphalia faces an exciting future!
