the guests in detail

Prof. Dr. Dr. Udo di Fabio has an impressive career. He was sitting at the Federal Constitutional Court from 1999 to 2011 and has an extensive academic work, including a professor at the University of Bonn. His scientific work deals with risk decisions in the rule of law and the functioning of discourses in closed systems.

On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Martin K.W. Schweer, who teaches in the field of pedagogical psychology, bring in his expertise on the trust that exists both between the citizens and the state and within society itself. Schweer has published numerous studies at the Chair in Vechta since 1998 and has experience in advising organizations, whereby he regularly incorporates his findings into public discussions.

The event is enriched by the contributions of the two experts, followed by a discussion round. Participation is free of charge and it is expected that many interested parties will appear to share their perspectives and ask questions. For those who do not make it into the auditorium, the event is also transmitted via screens in the foyer and in the grandstand, which enables broader participation.

As part of this event, the importance of the Basic Law is emphasized, which is considered the foundation for social order and democracy. With this event, the organizers hope to raise awareness of the values that are anchored in the Basic Law and to discuss how they can be implemented and experienced in today's society. Registration for the event is necessary to record the need for participation.

The discussion about trust in the institutions of our society is particularly relevant today, since many citizens are wondering whether the case law is perceived as fair and comprehensible. The event “A question of trust” aims to address these worries and promote a dialogue.
