Ulmer Strasse celebrates: Street festival brings Oberhausen together!

Ulmer Straße, 46045 Oberhausen, Deutschland - A street festival in November? Unusual, but the circumstances for the reopening of Ulmer Strasse in Oberhausen could not be better! On Saturday, November 16, the organizers hope for bright sunshine, while Ulmer Straße will be brought back to life after a four -month full closure due to renovation work. "We can all only worship the weather god," says Alexander Ferstl, who heads the preparations.

The return to normal is celebrated - and without tram traffic! Line 2 will only be put into operation on Monday, November 18, which saves the organizers of over 20,000 euros in detour fees. A festival of the senses is offered under the motto "The Ulmer Straße celebrates": from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., visitors can expect numerous stands with delicious dishes and delicious drinks as well as four stages with DJs, bands and dance groups. "We want to send the signal, Ulmer Straße lives and Oberhausen holds together," explains Ferstl enthusiastically.

a festival of diversity and cohesion

The Oberhausen advertising community organized the street festival, and for the first time all essential organizations from Oberhausen worked together. In addition to Ferstl and Susanne Drosche from the butcher Ludwig Mayer, the ARGE Oberhausen e. V., the Oberhausen district management and the campaign community in Oberhausen e. V. on board. "We have to counteract the split," emphasizes Werner Hartmann, the neighborhood manager, and hopes for a positive impulse for the entire district. The aim is to present the multicultural conditions of Ulmer Strasse and to include traders with a migration background.

If the festival is a success, further city festivals in Oberhausen could follow in the future. "But not in November, but when it is warmer," concludes Ferstl optimistically. The anticipation for a lively street festival is great - and Ulmer Strasse is ready to rewrite its story!
