The police stop flee: two suspects caught at daycare in Oberhausen!
Oberhausen. on the night of Saturday, at 0.33 a.m., the police were called for a nightly deployment at the "Giraffenland" day care center. Suspicious people were spotted and the officials immediately made their way to the Max Planck Ring. There they discovered two young men who fled to the police. But not everyone could escape-a 21-year-old was quickly caught, while his 17-year-old accomplice broke away with a scooter.
The chase took a dramatic turn when the 17-year-old fell at the intersection of Essener Straße / Osterfelder Straße and was slightly injured. The emergency services were quickly on hand to supply his wounds. But the misfortune was not the only problem: his scooter, with which he had fled, also turned out to be presumably stolen. In addition, the young person had no driver's license! The 21-year-old, who also tried to escape without success, was also arrested with another suspicious scooter.
burglary series in Oberhausen
Why the two young men were at the daycare center remains a mystery. Police spokesman René Anuth indicated that they had tools with them that could be used for burglaries. Fortunately, no damage was done in the daycare center itself. Oberhausen, however, has to deal with a worrying series of burglaries in daycare centers and schools this year - the damage amount is almost 400,000 euros! Until August, the city had 68 attempts to break in schools and ten in daycare centers. In order to counteract this, the security measures have been reinforced, including the installation of video cameras on urban school buildings.
The police are now investigating and looking for clues to the scooter, who played a central role in the incident. Anyone who has information is asked to report. The traffic commissioner of the Oberhausen police conducts the further investigation.
