Wermelskirchen in focus: Bicycle climate test is looking for your opinion on cycling!
Wermelskirchen. Since September 1st, the nationwide survey on the bike traffic situation has been held for the eleventh time from the general German bicycle club (ADFC) becomes. The survey, also known as a bicycle climate test, aims to gain the experiences and opinions of cyclists via their everyday trips.
This initiative offers the participants the opportunity to give important feedback on the cycling situation in their place of residence. This is crucial for traffic planning, since this information is used to specifically improve the infrastructure in the municipalities.
Results promote improvements
According to the ADFC, the survey results not only help to evaluate the previous successes of cycling funding, but also offer a basis for planning future measures. Interested parties can take part until November 30th and submit their reviews at www.fkt.adfc.de. The results will be presented in Berlin in spring 2025.

These cities are Bergisch Gladbach, Wermelskirchen, Leichlingen and Rösrath. Werheid is surprised by the previous low participant rates compared to other parts of Germany, where there were significantly higher number of participants.
, however, it remains optimistic that the other municipalities will also be active until the time.
The importance of the survey
The incoming reviews from the survey provide insights into the satisfaction of cyclists regarding the cycling infrastructure and the security situation on the streets. In total, the participants can comment on 27 questions that cover various aspects of cycling climate. This includes a feeling of security, quality of the cycle paths and the cooperation in road traffic.
With the survey, a ranking of the most bicycle -friendly cities is also created, which helps the municipalities to analyze their strengths and weaknesses. There is also the possibility for individual feedback, which includes both positive feedback and suggestions for improvement. Sabine Krämer-Kox, who works at the ADFC and is also the local chairman for Wermelskirchen and Burscheid, emphasizes that this is an excellent way for cities to specifically work on improvements in their infrastructure.
In addition, special attention is paid to the cooperation of road users, which is a special focus of the survey this year.
