Warning strike at OVAG: Line traffic and student transport affected!
Oberberg, Deutschland - alarm level red at the OVAG! Today, on November 7th, the Ver.di union proclaimed an all -day warning strike that paralyzes all line traffic and student transport. The effects are devastating: Passengers have to adapt to numerous failures, and the exact number of trips affected remains uncertain. An OVAG spokesman warns that the cancellations may not be communicated in time. If you want to be on the road today, you should urgently find out about the OVAG app!
The managing director of OVAG, Corinna Güllner, expresses sharp criticism of the strike, which takes place in an early negotiation phase. "The employer side has submitted a negotiable offer," she explains. But ver.di remains hard and sticks to his high demands, which are far above the current price increase. This exacerbates the already tense financial situation of municipal households. Güllner emphasizes that rising costs in public transport are a major challenge.
strike affects many transport companies
The warning strike not only affects the OVAG, but is part of a nationwide protest in which around 40 transport companies apply the railway collective agreement (ETV). This contract regulates the working conditions for bus and railway companies. Negotiations on the ETV are already underway, but the positions of the tariff parties are still far apart after the first day of the trial. Private bus companies that drive on behalf of the OVAG are not affected by the strike, which could defuse the situation for some passengers.
