Gummersbach, Deutschland - Gummersbach made it again! VfL Gummersbach moves into the quarter-finals of the DHB Cup with an impressive 29:24 win against the second division Bergischer HC. The team of coach Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson showed itself in top shape on Thursday evening and thus celebrated the fourth in the last eight. A comeback that had the fans cheered: Julian Köster, who returned after injury, was immediately a crucial factor and helped turn the game.

The Gummersbacher started furiously and quickly led 6-2. But the guests from Wuppertal could not be discouraged and in the meantime turned the game, even led 11: 9. But Köster brought a breath of fresh air and stability into the offensive game, which helped the Gummersbachers to go into half time with a 17:14. Unfortunately there were also negative messages: Mykola Protsiuk had to go to the cabin early due to injury and did not come back.
