Serious ghost driver accident: five injured on west tangent!
A dramatic ghost driver accident shook the west tangent between Bomig and Bielstein on Friday evening! Five people were injured when a 51-year-old woman got on the wrong road with her VW Tiguan. With her three children-a 12-year-old son and two daughters aged 13 and 22-she raced on oncoming traffic and collided with the VW of a 20-year-old driver who was traveling towards Gummersbach. The destruction of the vehicles is terrifying, but everyone involved was incredible lucky that there were no serious injuries.

The police reported only five slightly injured on site, which were immediately brought to surrounding hospitals. One person may have to stay in the hospital for monitoring overnight. The fire brigade of the Wiehl fire brigade was also on duty to ensure fire protection and support the emergency services. The west tangent was closed in both directions for several hours, while the scene of the accident was cleaned and the damaged vehicles were towed.
At around 7 p.m. the road was released towards Wiehl, but the oncoming lane remained closed until around 8 p.m. The circumstances of the accident are still unclear and the police are determined to find out how this dangerous incident could occur. The terrifying pictures of the scene of the accident indicate how lucky the inmates were, that they got away with minor injuries.
