Today, numerous training companies presented themselves that sparked the curiosity of the 9th and 10th graders with fresh ideas and exciting opportunities. The event, which builds on the overwhelming success of the previous year, brought together 15 companies - from the nursing service to the large craft business. This was not just about information, but about real enthusiasm for internships and training!

The "OK training" initiative was behind this impressive event, which acts as part of the state initiative "No conclusion without connection" (KAOA). Wilfried Holberg, the chairman, emphasized the urgency to win qualified young people. Peter Wurth, trainer at Kampf, made it clear how important it is to find the best talents. "We are now seeing ourselves once a month," he reported on the regular meetings of the companies that vie for the best trainees. "We can't do more," he added, while he underlined the need to be present at training fairs and social media.

"The okay is not enough, the students have to be thrilled," said Wurth and emphasized that the quality of the internships is crucial. At the stand of the fighting company, trainee Dylan Weidmann, who met the students at eye level and gave them practical insights into the professional world. The headmistress Claudia Lengen-Mertel emphasized that the students were prepared for this career choice course in the classroom to ensure that their theoretical wishes match reality.

New this year was the participation of the Engelskirchen municipal administration and the OVAG, which advertised on the school premises for training positions by bus. The shortage of skilled workers is also an urgent topic here. Holberg found that the results of the personnel acquisition are difficult to measure, but the commitment to make young people tasty for dual training has remained unbroken since 2006.
