The popular crime title "Tatort" is growing: In the new film "I confess" (working title), the protagonists chief criminal commissioner Frank Thiel, played by Axel Prahl, and Professor Karl-Friedrich Boerne, represented by Jan Josef Liefers, are facing a tricky case. The story unfolds after a wet and happy celebration at the Medical Faculty, in which Thiel and Boerne are also amused until they are confronted with the inexplicable death of a student.

The student Chris Haffmeister, in the role of Jonas Stenzel, is found dead after he died of an enigmatic stab injury.
