On Sunday, November 3, the Evangelical Church of Freiheitstraße becomes the setting for a very special concert. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of the celebrated French composer Gabriel Fauré, his most moving works are listed. The evening promises to touch the hearts of the listeners - and all with free admission!

From 8 p.m. it will be "stage free" for an impressive performance! The evening is opened with the moving "Messe Basse" for women's choir, followed by the "Cantique de Jean Racine", a beautiful piece for mixed choir and organ. But that's just the beginning: even excerpts from the "Cum Jubilo" trade fair from Duruflé will captivate the crowd. The highlight of the concert will clearly be Fauré's famous requiem! In contrast to many of his contemporaries who offer dramatic representations of the latest court, Fauré focuses on comfort and hope. The audience can look forward to the last sentence "in paradisum", which exudes pure longing and peace.

The Evangelical Cantore Mettmann does not come alone: reinforced by the renowned Rheinische Motetenchor Cologne, the ensemble promises a musical extravagance of a special kind.
