Wäller bus traffic: solutions for students - chaos finally ended!
Altenkirchen, Deutschland - In the Westerwald, public bus traffic was long characterized by massive problems. After the implementation of new line bundles in the summer and the associated increase in the number of students, there were considerable difficulties, such as "https://www.rhein-zeitung.de/lokales/westerwaelder-zeitung/slessie-im-waeller-bus-wurde-tievf_arid-4008107.html"> rhein-zeitung.de . At a hearing in the transport committee, entrepreneurs and experts showed the problem and suggested solutions. The situation was so tense that an overload caused by the school holidays occurred when thousands of students were back in the buses.
Change in bus traffic: BVO takes over line bundles
Bus traffic Ostwestfalen GmbH (BVO) took over the first line bundle in the district of Lippe on June 24, 2023 as part of a Europe -wide tender. This includes the lines between Bielefeld, Oerlinghausen, Leopoldshöhe, Bad Salzuflen and Location. The BVO will operate a total of 21 bus lines for the next two years. According to lippemobil.de , managing director Achim Oberwöhrmeier expects a smooth transition, since the BVO was previously active in this region. The passengers have to adjust to hardly any changes in the timetable, but can benefit from an expansion of the limo service, which now covers all districts in the regions mentioned, which significantly improves access for passengers.
The limo trips can now be booked flexibly, which is intended to increase mobility in the region. Despite the positive developments, asked to apologize to possible initial problems and invite passengers to report abnormalities in order to remedy the situation as soon as possible. All of this was made possible by funding from the Federal Ministry of Transport and shows BVO's commitment to better public transport.
