Experience art up close: new graphics department in the Museum Morsbroich!
In the Museum Morsbroich in Leverkusen, art is griffal! The new graphic department, directed by Fritz Emslander, offers visitors the exciting way to get in touch directly with valuable works of art. Light -sensitive masterpieces such as prints, woodcuts and lithographs are housed in special archive cabinets. But be careful! These treasures are protected behind safety glass so that nobody comes up with the idea of taking a Gerhard judge graphic unnoticed.
unique interaction with art
But that's not all! Art lovers can experience some works up close with experts from the museum, including art mediators and the museum management. There are graphics in the lower drawers of the new cupboards that can be viewed without glass. The key is in the hands of the justified museum employee, such as Fritz Emslander and Thekla Zell.
The conversion of the graphic department was generously supported by VR-Bank Bergisch Gladbach-Leverkusen. In addition to the new cabinets, there is a large table where visitors can actively work. A thematically suitable mini library is provided for the exhibitions. In addition, the artist Harald F. Müller painted the ceiling in the cabinet in a striking mangia. Another highlight are the new "Morsbroich shares"-not real stocks, but graphic leaves that can be purchased for 1400 euros. Buyers are included in the museum association for one year, while members of the association only have to pay 900 euros, which corresponds to the membership fee for the whole family.
