Drama in Leverkusen: Fire brigade saves unconscious residents from fire apartment!
On Saturday evening, the Leverkusen fire brigade had to deploy for an assignment in Breslauer Strasse. Around 10:34 p.m., the fire brigade received an emergency call from a woman who reported an activated smoke detector in an apartment building. Her information was worrying that there may still be people in the affected apartment.
When they arrive, the emergency services immediately perceived a weak smell of fire smoke. In order to minimize the risk of the residents, all residents of the adjacent apartments were quickly and safely brought to safety via the stairwell, which was luckily not affected by the smoke.
emergency services and rescue measures
After the fire brigade opened the door of the affected apartment by force, they found the apartment owner they were looking for, which was in a worrying state and was described as a "awareness". After the first medical care, he was immediately transported to a closest hospital with suspected flue gas intoxication.
The fire brigade then ventilated the apartment and also checked for pollutants. A total of nine fire engines and 35 emergency services, consisting of the professional fire brigade as well as the extinguishing trains from Lützenkirchen and Steinbüchel of the volunteer fire brigade, were supported by the emergency services. However, the fire brigade could not provide any information about the exact cause of the fire. These ambitious rescue actions show the professionalism and speed with which the emergency services have to act in such critical situations.
