Fraudsters as Stadtwerke employees: Seniors in Krefeld in sight!
Krüllsdyk, 47803 Krefeld, Deutschland - in Krefeld recently output unscrupulous fraudsters as employees of the municipal utility company and cheated seniors in their own apartments. On October 10, 2024, around 5 p.m., two incidents occurred on the Krüllsdyk and Moerser Straße. The perpetrators joined that there was a water pipe break in the area, which gave them access to the apartments of the unsuspecting seniors.
While the fraudsters on the Krüllsdyk could be shown out of the apartment in good time by the injured party, it was less lucky on Moerser Strasse. There the crooks were able to steal some valuables. A victim described the perpetrators as about 170 to 175 cm tall and at the age of approx. 30 years, with the Mediterranean appearance and dark clothing. It was particularly striking that one of the perpetrators was built and wore black wool gloves while the other was thinner.

The Krefeld police urgently warns of such fraud. She advises not to leave any strangers into the apartment and, if in doubt, call directly to the relevant company in order to check the identity of the employees. These preventive measures can help protect yourself and your valuables. The involvement of neighbors could also offer additional security.
