Inclusion in Geldern: St. Michael daycare center starts!
In Geldern, the St. Michael Center Daycare Center faces a fundamental change that comes into force from April 2025. The facility will turn into an inclusive place where children with and without special conveying needs grow up, learn and play. This exciting concept was presented by the Bernadette Baldeau facility management.
"We want to create an environment in which every child is accepted as it is and his individual talents and needs are seen," emphasizes Baldeau. In the future, the daycare center will record 20 children aged two and over, which will receive a place in accordance with the Child Education Act (Kibiz). At the same time, the proven care of 24 children with increased support needs from three years remains. This combination is intended to ensure that every child receives the best possible support, regardless of whether it has special needs.
An interdisciplinary team for holistic support
The team of the daycare center is diverse and consists of curative teachers, educators, curative education nurses and specialists in the areas of speech therapy, motopedia and physiotherapy. These specialists work closely together to offer the children an age -appropriate and comprehensive range of funding. "We rely on an interdisciplinary concept that aims to accompany and support each child individually on their way," says Baldeau.
parents and interested custody are cordially invited to get to know the day care center better. In order to get an insight into the everyday life of the facility, two sightseeing dates are planned in October:
- Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Insight into everyday day care centers
- Friday, October 25, 2024, from 2 to 4 p.m.: Quiet tour without children
For parents who cannot participate in the specified dates, the daycare center offers the opportunity to arrange individual viewing appointments. Details and registrations are possible both on the website of the daycare center and via the Kitaonline platform, where the facility can still be found as a "curative education day care center St. Michael".
With this realignment, the St. Michael daycare center takes an important step towards modern, comprehensive childcare, which focuses on the different needs of all children.
