MGC Rot-Weiß: inspire mini golf tournaments in Halver and South Tyrol!
Halver, Deutschland - The mini golks of the MGC Red-Weiß Wanne-Eickel will have a lot of activity in autumn 2024. With the reopened mini golf hall in Halver, the season opening tournament was on the program on Monday, October 14, 2024. The students were particularly active from the participating players, including the talented Sonja Knoll. Your participation was not only a competition, but also an important training with regard to an upcoming youth ranking list that will take place in an unique position.
Before the tournament, the players had prepared themselves on the facility on Saturday, October 12th. It turned out that the lanes had hardly changed over the summer, which gave the players a lot of positive feedback. Sonja Knoll started with a 25 round, which is already a solid performance. She had no major mistakes, but the aces, i.e. the perfect blows, could be counted. In the next round she had to accept a somewhat weaker 26er round, as she started unhappily with mistakes on lane 1 and 3. Nevertheless, she was in front of the second student, Isabella founder who needed more blows.
successful day for Sonja Knoll
The day of the decision brought a turn: With two excellent rounds, Sonja achieved a total score of 98 strokes and thus her personal best on this track. The strong performance secured her victory in the student category, which was a reason for the young Minigolfer.
South Tyrolean mini golf autumn and national tournaments
Willi Hettrich was also very active, this time in South Tyrol. Traditionally, the Minigolfer visit the St. Zeno Trophy, which took place this year for the 42nd time and took place in the picturesque backdrop of Naturns. This event extends over two days and includes exciting competitions, in which the participants also hope for the final round. In the first rounds, however, Hettrich experienced a number of unexpected challenges that made his competition rather difficult.
The weather and health problems restricted its preparation, which led to two weak 32 results in the first round. These made a clear contrast to the strong performance of other participants, such as home player Andreas Dell Aqua, who sets the rail record with a 21 round. Despite these difficulties, Hettrich found a better form in round three and achieved a 28, which only improved his placement marginally and brought him 13th place.
He achieved a significantly better result at the tournament on miniature golf, where he started with a 21 round, which indicated a good feeling for the facility. However, a small mistake occurred in the second round, which had a negative impact on the overall ranking. With further rounds of 23 and 26 strokes, he made the leap into the final round, where the concentration was no longer at the peak. Ultimately, he reached a solid, but not entirely satisfactory 13th place among 40 seniors 2-pair participants.
In the meantime, a special event for children was also organized in domestic realms. A group of ten young participants from the Plan B children's home took part in a mini golf session in the fun park. The mini golf club provided drinks and snacks and provided a lot of joy and entertainment with three dedicated supervisors.
