A dramatic scenario now developed at the Lackmannshof in Baukau when a 250 kilogram duddowner from World War II was discovered! The city announced that the detonator of the bomb was still active - a real shock for the residents!
At 5:20 p.m., the evacuation of around 1,200 people in the affected areas, including the Westring, the Lackmannshof and the Kaiser, Germans and Wallburgstrasse, began. If you didn't have a safe place, you were looked after by the DRK and ASB Realschule Strünkede. The tension was tangible while people were brought to safety!
defusing without incidents
The evacuation was completed by 8:45 p.m. and the experts were able to begin defusing the dangerous dud. The residents held their breath while the specialists did their work. The redeeming all -clear came at 9:30 p.m.: The bomb was defused and people were allowed to go back to their apartments!
