Union Schafhausen cheers: 2-0 victory against relegation candidate Porz!

Porz, Deutschland - Union Schafhausen celebrated a remarkable 2-0 victory against SpVG Porz at the weekend, a success that the team has decisively catapults up in the table of the Rhine Rhine League. Coach Jochen Küppers was positive about the performance of his team, which was classified as a potential relegation before the start of the season. Today, however, the club presents itself in a secure midfield.

The victory was achieved by a dynamic style of play and effective pressing. Jochen Küppers emphasized that the team's specifications were implemented from the start. "We stood compactly and attacked the outside after ball conquests," said the trainer. The first goal fell early in the game: After successful ball recruitment, the ball was quickly carried forward, where David Jennissen put on for Tim Scheuvens. This took the opportunity and shot the first goal for Schafhausen in the 6th minute.

The second goal followed only a little later. Scheuvens used his qualities again by seeing the opposing goalkeeper too far outside his housing and pushed the ball flat around him (24th minute). Although Porz had more possession and tried to control the game, it was Schafhausen that played out the clear chances.

The hosts had their best opportunity to play in the 60th minute when a ball that was too short from the Union keeper Niklas Giesen led to a dangerous shot by Floret Sylaj. But Giesen showed his class and parried this decisive shot, which strengthened the lead.

"We stood very compactly and defend everything away," Küppers commented on the defensive performance of his team. Porz had some shot from a distance in the first half, but these did not show the necessary precision or were kept glossy by giesen. In the second half, the hosts preferred to try long balls, but Schafhausen no longer allowed.

The players Schunk and Wolf continued to put needles in the attacks, while the "work bees" Demming and Scheuvens worked a lot backwards. Küppers also praised the exchange of players: "When Tim was through, Philipp Gruettner replaced him very well with his size and header." This shows the depth and flexibility in the squad of Union Schafhausen, which proves to be decisive this season.

The list of the team for this victory was: Giesen - Henkens (20th Thaqi), Peschel, Hotopp, Beumers - Schunk (86th Küppers), Seferi, Jennissen, Wolf (90.+1 de Oliveria) - Demming (71. Guncati), Scheuvens (64. Gruettner).

With this valuable victory, Union Schafhausen seems to be on the right track of establishing itself in the league and possibly even taking a rise in the coming time. However, Küppers remains modest: "We are on the right track," he said, leaving the possibility of a relegation scenario behind. The next games will show whether the team can take the momentum with them.
