First year baby beach: playing, inhaling and getting healthy in Hückelhoven!
In a charming setting in the heart of Hückelhoven, the Baby Beach has established itself as a real attraction where health and gaming experience combine. The innovative concept created by Sabine and Sascha Klein looks back on a successful first year. This unique room, which is located in the medical center, offers a children's inhalerium that was specially designed for small guests.
The special thing about the baby beach is the use of coarse -grained salt, which is on the bottom of the inhalatorium instead of ordinary sand. Children can play here to their heart's content, while they absorb valuable minerals and trace elements through the brine mist that flows into the room. The play equipment, such as shovels and buckets, make the experience not only entertaining, but also health -promoting. "Here the children inhale for 45 minutes and still do not experience boredom," explains Klein. This method in particular supports the little guests who suffer from respiratory diseases.
demand and audience
originally thought that the operators thought that parents with chronically ill children in particular would regularly attend the facility. But reality looks different. "Most visits focus on the cold period between September and March when the small noses begin to sniff," explains Klein. During this time, guests from all over the region are traveling because the demand for treatments in the colder months increases.
A pleasant aspect of the past few months has the increased demand in adults with respiratory diseases. In order to meet this need, the Kleins now offer special inhalation meetings for adults that take place on certain days between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. "The salty air is not only beneficial for children, but also valuable support for adults who want to strengthen their immune system," adds Sascha Klein.
The operators currently see that families are increasing again. The background could be the increasing lack of medication that reports in the media, which causes many parents to prevent preventive into the inhaler. "There is constant demand and we are thinking about expanding our opening hours," says Klein.
The parents can relax in the family café while the children play. This season, the offer in the café was expanded to meet a wider target group. Klein emphasizes that the café should also be attractive for families who do not use the inhalation offers. The newly designed family café offers an excellent opportunity to talk to other parents, while the children are busy in safe play areas.
An important concern of the operators is the safety of the children in the inhaler. "The salty air has disinfectant properties. After each session we disinfect thoroughly and ventilate the room," says Klein. These measures help to feel good and play their children without fear.
A visit to the baby beach is still subject to registration due to the limited capacities. Interested parties can register at the specified telephone number or by email. The opening times are from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
