On Monday, November 18, 2024, the time had finally come: Police President Reiner Hamm officially introduced Ulrich Koch as the new head of the police operations at the Mainz police headquarters. The 51-year-old Koch, who most recently worked as a personnel officer in the Ministry of the Interior and for Sports in the State of Rhineland-Palatinate, has an abundance of experiences. Before that, he headed the Ludwigshafen police department and knows the region like its socket pocket!

He spoke enthusiastically about his return to the "Heimat Presidium", where he already led the departments in Ingelheim and Worms. "It feels good to be here again," enthused Koch, underlining his connection with the region. He faces this new adventure with full motivation, and this is also evident in the ceremonial inauguration, in which the ranking of police leaders, family members and guests from the judiciary, politics and society was prominently represented.

a new course for the police

police chief Hamm received the greatest attention, who praised the chef as "police officers through and through". Among the guests were high -ranking personalities such as the leading chief prosecutors from Mainz, Bad Kreuznach and Worms as well as the mayor of Mainz, Nino Haase.
