A total of eight members were honored for their 50, 40- and 25-year membership at a sociable beef sausage in the restaurant. Ralf Eisenhardt, the chairman of the city association, paid tribute to each jubilee with a personal speech in which he not only responded to aspects of their many years of membership, but also highlighted significant events from 1974, 1984 and 1999 - the time when the members of the CDU joined. He explained how crucial it is to take on a voluntary commitment to local politics in today's world, despite diverse demands on work and family. "It is not a matter of course to stand up between life, work, family and leisure requirements in local politics for his hometown," Eisenhardt summarized the core message of the evening.

In addition, Dr. Tilman Rademacher, the candidate for the Bundestag election in the Unna I constituency, presented to explain his positions on current political issues and to exchange ideas with the members.
