Time travel to the horror village: Murot chases Nazi criminals in Hesse!
In the latest case of the Hessian "crime scene", Commissioner Murot, represented by Michael Tukur, takes the audience on an extraordinary journey through time. Accompanied by his assistant Magda Wächter, played by Barbara Philipp, Murot awaits the delivery of the Nazi criminal Hagen von Strelow sought at Frankfurt. But before it comes to the decisive encounter, the story suddenly found itself in 1944, in the middle of the turmoil of the Second World War.
In this historical performance, Tukur appears as Colonel Rother, who stuck in a remote village due to a predicament. Everyday life could be unspectacular, but the situation is quickly escalating when Rother and his unscrupulous adjutant from Strelow, played by Ludwig Simon, are involved in a fatal conflict. For Rother, a crashed English plane brings the disaster in the form of a spy, the secret invasion plans of which could endanger the village and the further events within the Nazi administration.
insights into the dictatorship
The impressive turn of the narrative illustrates the grim being of the dictatorship. While Rother tries to prevent the secret information from being known, it is becoming increasingly evident how Strelow wants to take control of the situation. The representation of a fig and ruthless power behavior is reinforced by Simon's urgent acting performance. His ruthless action, which does not even stop at the killing of innocent villagers, reveals the abysses and the dangerous logic of an authoritarian ideology.
The authors Michael Proehl, Dirk Morgenstern and M. X. Oberg have proven a wide range of courage by moving the plot of the "crime scene" for 80 years into the past. This unconventional setting ensures that the crimes of the Third Reich are not forgotten. It is a striking representation that shows how crime stories can also serve as a warning to historical misconduct. Despite the rather unspectacular narrative, the brutal reality of the war and National Socialism becomes clearer than ever.
In an unpleasant way, the challenges that life in the Third Reich shaped are made tangible, while the main character Rother - driven by a feeling of dutiful consciousness - at the same time explored the ethical limits of its decisions. "One day they will be held accountable for their actions," he warns his adjutant, taking a critical look at the unpointed crimes of the past.
The new episode entitled "Murot and the 1000-year-old Reich" will be broadcast on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 8:15 p.m. Here a multi -layered thriller can be experienced that immerse yourself in the shallows of the human psyche and raises uncomfortable questions about power and responsibility.
