Cyclists in Bad Pyrmont finally demand safe bike path along L947!

Bad Pyrmont/Barntrup/Hagen 947, which Hagen connects with Barntrup and Blomberg is finally again Driving! But the joy of the drivers is overshadowed by the great disappointment of the cyclists. Because while the cars will soon be able to rush past the cyclists at 100 km/h, there is still no bike path on this route. A resident from Bad Pyrmont-Holzhausen who wants to remain anonymous has been drawing attention to the dangers for over twenty years and vehemently demands a secure bike path between Barntrup and Hagen.

"The shield that shows the Lippe district as 'bike-friendly' is not to be beaten in irony," says the cyclist, who regularly uses the route with his e-bike. He had hoped that the renovation of the street also has the construction of a bike path. In summer there was positive news from the Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Transport of the State of North Rhine -Westphalia, which nourished hope. Barntrup had submitted an application to promote a cycle path and the measure was included in the program. But the plans for a timely implementation seem vague.

cycle path in planning - but when?

The city of Barntrup remains optimistic and plans to establish a "Bürger-/bike path" along the L 947 in the direction of Hagen. Uwe Schünemann, the general representative and city treasurer, confirms that the measure is already commissioned and is to be implemented in the coming year. However, the city of Bad Pyrmont has not yet received any current information on the implementation in the Barntruper area and emphasizes that a continuation of the bike path should not run along the state road.

not far from the shield, which shows the district of Lippe as a bicycle-friendly, another sign is signaling: It indicates that there is no special way for cyclists and pedestrians and asks the question "Where?". The cyclists in the region are excited to see whether their decades of demands are finally heard and whether the planned cycle path actually becomes a reality.
