Hagener U16 fights bravely, but loses 44:58 against Oberhausen!

Hagen, Deutschland - drama on the basketball field: TSV Hagen 1860 is subject to New Basket Oberhausen!

On November 10, 2024, the fans of TSV Hagen in 1860 experienced an exciting but ultimately disappointing game in the 2nd Regionalliga VR Group 2 U16 female. The Hageners had to give up 44:58 against the league leader New Basket Oberhausen. The quarter results clearly show how hard the game was: (9:19 / 10:18 / 16:11 / 9:10). Despite the absence of top scorer Lore and the injured Marie, the Hageners showed some promising moves at the beginning, but could not reward themselves for their efforts.

The first points were long in coming, and Oberhausen took the opportunity to run away with a 6-0 run. The Hageners fought, but the offensive remained weak, which led to a gap of 18 points at halftime. But then came the turn! A clear speech during the half -time break and an aggressive full court press brought the Hageners back into play. Estelya, Alessia and Lina initiated an impressive 6-0 run, and the hope sprouted when the Hageners reduced the gap to 13 points.

crucial turning points and fighting spirit

But the swing did not last long. Suddenly the ball no longer fell into the basket, and Oberhausen took the opportunity to bring about the preliminary decision with an 8: 0 run. Five minutes before the end, the deficit was already 21 points. Despite these setbacks, the Hageners did not give up and were still able to do some cosmetics of results. Coach praised the performance of his players, especially Lilly, who shone with her offensive rebounds, and Fine and Lina, who performed strongly. "We showed a good game today and could not reward ourselves for good actions," summed up the trainer.

The next challenge is already waiting: This next weekend it will be going against the Herner TC at home. The Hageners are determined to increase their performance and get the next points!
