hagen. The tension increases! In Hagen, seven brave candidates gathered for the office of mayor to ask themselves the urgent questions of the economy - only ten months before the election! At the entrepreneur-Arena, which was a complete success, the applicants presented themselves and made it clear that the time of standstill is over!

The expectations are high! Jörg Bachmann, managing director of the host Hotel Arcadeon, left no doubt that the Hagen economy demands a clear change of course. Dennis Rehbein (CDU), Thomas Köhler (SPD), Jörg Fritzsche (Greens), Josef Bücker (Hagen Aktiv), Katja Graf (FDP), Michael Tropp (Hagenerkreiskreis/HAK) and Philipp Jung (non -party) are faced with the challenge of selling the "dark clouds" of recent years. Winfried Bahn, the initiator of the entrepreneurial council, illustrated the pressing problems in his passionate speech: transport infrastructure, inner -city development and high unemployment - the list is long and the time is crowded!

The pressing questions of the future

In a first question and answer session, the candidates had the opportunity to present their main topics. Particularly alarming: A survey among young Hageners shows that almost 60 percent of them do not believe in a professional future in their city! 80 percent feel politically powerless. Here the parties have to act urgently to regain the trust of the youth. But the young participants of the Hagen Denkbor proved that they have ideas for a better future: from interactive cards to more security through better lighting - the suggestions only bubbled!

The candidates faced the questions about business development, inner city development and budget consolidation. There was agreement on the need for an old debt relief to improve the catastrophic budget situation. Winfried Bahn sharply criticized the inactivity of the past few years and demanded clear growth impulses from the new mayor. The entrepreneurs expect a clear vision for the future of Hagen - quickly!

The evening symbolically ended with the handover of fireplace wood to the candidates, a sign of hope for new shores and clear moments. The entrepreneurs are ready for changes - now it is up to the candidates to meet these expectations!
