E-scooter driver with 1.4 per thousand: driver's license away in Hagen!

Hagen. A young man from Hagen experienced a shocking turn early Sunday morning when he was stopped by a party with an e-scooter, from the police. What he didn't know: There are also strict alcohol boundaries on an e-scooter!

The 21-year-old was on his way home when he was stopped by two officials around 4.50 a.m. His striking driving behavior let the alarm bells ring. During the check, he admitted to having drunk a few beer. But that was just the beginning of his problems!

breath test raises the alarm: 1.4 per thousand!

A breath alcohol test brought the shocking truth to light: 1.4 per thousand! This not only means that he was in a dangerous condition, but also that the police reacted immediately. A blood sample was taken and a criminal complaint followed on the foot. Although no driver's license is required for e-scooters, the same alcohol boundaries apply as to cars. And if you have over 1.1 per thousand, you are legally absolutely suitable for driving!

The Hagen police left no doubt that the rules also apply to e-scooter drivers. The young man was visibly surprised when the officials took his driver's license (class B for cars) and confiscated him. A painful loss for an evening full of fun that now ended in a nightmare!
