Festival for lights and winegrowers: Gelsenkirchen celebrates a dream weekend!
In Gelsenkirchen, the weekend becomes the real festival of lights and delights! The city in the Ruhr area turns into a radiant shopping paradise on November 2 and 3 with the unique event "1000 lights in the city". This weekend the streets of the city center shine in a sea of lights, while visitors can stroll in a festive atmosphere from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
a festival for the senses: winemaker market and more!
The highlight is the first wine store on the Neumarkt, where six exquisite winegrowers present their best (glow) wine specialties. From Moselle to Pfalz - the best drops in the Region are gathered here! The city announces: "The Scholtes winery from the Moselle, wines for joy from Bochum and many other providers." But that's not all! A pianist provides musical accompanying, and when dark, there is a fire spitting that enchanted the audience.
For the little guests there is a lot of fun in the “Kinderwunderland” behind the station center-from carousels to face painting to crafting offers and a mini-mechanic circus. And as if that weren't enough, the shops on Sunday, November 3, open their doors from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. A perfect day to stroll relaxed and enjoy the weekend to the fullest!
A small note: All Saints' Day is a holiday in NRW on which the shops are closed. But for everyone who is looking for a special experience, Gelsenkirchen is the Place to be!
