Gelsenkirchen was the scene of two violent traffic accidents on Tuesday evening, which resulted in a total of three injuries. The Gelsenkirchen police have started the investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the accidents.
Around 6 p.m. a 64-year-old man from Marl and his father drove Kurt-Schumacher-Straße to the north. The first incident occurred at the A2 motorway bridge. A black Mercedes drove onto the Marler and brought his vehicle out of balance, so it crashed into the guardrail. Fortunately, the 64-year-old and his father remained unharmed, but his car was badly damaged.
The course of accidents
The driver of the Mercedes, an 81-year-old man, continued his journey after the impact and collided a short time later near Eschfeldstrasse with another car. In this vehicle there was a 58-year-old woman from Bochum. The collision damaged her car so badly that it came off the road and crashed into a wall. The Bochumer suffered serious injuries in this incident.
On the other hand, for the Mercedes driver and his 56-year-old passenger, however, the accident was not over. They too were injured in the collisions - the driver, lightly, his passenger - and had to be taken to a nearby hospital. The 81-year-old's vehicle was ensured to secure the investigation.
The police temporarily blocked Kurt-Schumacher-Straße between the Willy-Brandt-Allee and the Emil-Zimmermann-Allee in the direction of travel to the north to examine the scene of the accident.
The investigation to clarify the cause of the accident is currently in full swing. Until no further information is published, it remains exciting which facts will come to light. More details can be found in a detailed report on www.presseportal.de .
