Carnival against right: colorful and tolerant for a better society!
Alten Markt, Euskirchen, Deutschland - In Euskirchen, the carnival session was opened with a powerful call to tolerance and against right -wing radicalism! Under the motto "Colorful makes you healthy!" gathered at the eleventh in the eleventh numerous people on the old market to set an example of an open society. Winfried Kubitza-Simons, better known as a barrel organ simon, led the event and emphasized: "We want to bring more respect again in dealing with each other." This private initiative, Jeck against the right, stands for diversity and respectful cooperation.
The Protestant pastor Gregor Weichsel left no doubt that clear edge against the strengthened right -wing radicals in Germany must be shown. "Carnival means plain text, carnival means tolerance," he called to those present. He made it clear that one does not have to represent a left -wing opinion in order to be part of Jeck against the right. The message was clear: everyone is welcome to enter into a respectful cooperation!
variety and cohesion
The event, which was taking place for the fifth time this year, was a colorful mix of different communities. Parishes from the district town were represented with stands, as well as the queer regulars' table and the group Grandmas against right. District Administrator Markus Ramers underlined the importance of cohesion in society and called on to fight together against intolerance. In Euskirchen it becomes clear that the carnival is not only a festival, but also a platform for important social issues!
