A tough contrast to this are the Werdohler, who have to make do with only 20,996 euros per year.

The citizens of the Olpe district lead with an annual income of 26,897 euros, followed by the Hochsauerlandkreis with 25,326 euros and the Ennepe-Ruhr district with 25,020 euros. The Märkische Kreis itself comes to 24,709 euros per capita and thus exceeds the districts of Siegen-Wittgenstein, Soest and Unna. At the end of the list is Hagen, where people only have 20,460 euros a year.
