Schalksmühle leads: Maximum annual income in the Märkische Kreis!

In the small but wealthy community of Schalksmühle, which, according to census 2022, has only 10,429 inhabitants, there is a reason for joy! The latest statistics from IT.NRW show that the Schalksmühler enjoy the highest annual income in the Märkisches Kreis. With an impressive average of 32,780 euros per year, they are at the top, while the citizens of Meinerzhagen are in second place with 28,500 euros. A tough contrast to this are the Werdohler, who have to make do with only 20,996 euros per year.

But how does the Märkische Kreis cut off compared to its neighbors? He occupies a solid midfield. The citizens of the Olpe district lead with an annual income of 26,897 euros, followed by the Hochsauerlandkreis with 25,326 euros and the Ennepe-Ruhr district with 25,020 euros. The Märkische Kreis itself comes to 24,709 euros per capita and thus exceeds the districts of Siegen-Wittgenstein, Soest and Unna. At the end of the list is Hagen, where people only have 20,460 euros a year.

Overall, there is a gratifying trend: the available income in North Rhine-Westphalia has increased by 5.2 percent and is now an average of 25,100 euros per year. This means that every inhabitant has 1,235 euros more for consumption and savings than in the previous year. The city of Herdecke in the Ennepe-Ruhr district is particularly outstanding, which has the highest available income of all 396 cities and municipalities in NRW at 37,387 euros. Duisburg, Kranenburg and Gelsenkirchen, on the other hand, fight with the lowest values and can be found at the other end of the income scale.
