Hunting license applications in the Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis: Waiting times threaten for weeks!

Ennepe-Ruhr. What used to be done quickly and easily in the Schwelmer district house now turns into a bureaucratic nightmare with weeks of waiting times. The lower hunting authority of the Ennepe-Ruhr district warns: If you want to apply for or extend a hunting license, you should better take care of your documents at an early stage!

The nationwide law has been in force to improve internal security and the asylum system since October 31, and the consequences are dramatic! The processing times for hunting license applications have exploded. Where applications used to be processed quickly, the authorities must now obtain additional information from the police, customs and the federal police. That means: more authorities, ask more and above all more time! It becomes particularly complicated for applicants who have moved in the past ten years - several police stations have to be contacted here!

complex processes and delays

But that's not all! The start of the new procedure is anything but round. Although the law is already in force, no applications can yet be processed because the necessary decree documents have arrived with a delay of over two weeks. In addition, the authorities are waiting for important legal feedback that could continue to stop processing. The newly added authorities are not yet technically ready, which also exacerbates the Situation.

In the Ennepe-Ruhr district, between 500 and 600 applications for extending a hunting certificate are expected annually. Around 2,150 citizens currently have a valid hunting license, and for most of them the weapons authority of the district police authority is responsible. But the hunting authority must now also send inquiries to the Bochum police headquarters for the Witten hunter. A bureaucratic chaos that will pose great challenges in the coming months!
