Gevelsberg and Ennepetal: Schools win at the AVU competition!
gevelsberg/Ennepetal. The AVU school competition chose the winners, and the tension was tangible! A total of 38 creative projects from the Ennepe-Ruhr district competed against each other, and the selection was anything but easy. The jury was enthusiastic about the variety of ideas and awarded 17 outstanding projects with prize money of 10,000 euros!
The Elbach School in Wetter has secured first place with its innovative plan to transform an unused wasteland into a flowering garden. The jury was also able to convince the elementary school in Gevelsberg: its “green classroom” is revived with exciting nature observations and experiments. The Loher Nocken special school in Ennepetal, on the other hand, is dedicated to the pressing topic of waste prevention and has developed creative ideas to raise awareness of it. These three schools each receive 1,000 euros to support their projects.
variety of projects
But that's not all! The other 14 winners who receive 500 euros each also present impressive projects. The Gevelsberg Community Heavenschule and the Grünstraße Realschule in Hattingen are based on “dispute settlement” and train students into commuting lights. This is intended to better solve conflicts in the classes. There are also exciting projects that deal with more green at schoolyards and in the area.
